Controls Engineer
Own the electrical design on machines that run production lines. You will design complete control systems — schematics, panel layouts, bills of material and hardware documentation — for medium to large-scale industrial automation, and stay involved through commissioning and field support.
What you will be doing
- Design electrical control systems including schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams and bills of material using AutoCAD and SolidWorks Electrical.
- Specify and configure PLCs, drives, motion systems and control hardware.
- Support custom machine development in collaboration with mechanical engineering.
- Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues both in manufacturing and in field support.
- Ensure compliance with UL508A and NEC standards.
- Identify design improvements and cost-reduction opportunities.
- Support commissioning, documentation, training and standardization efforts.
- Maintain controls documentation, ECRs and production checklists.
- Promote safe work practices and compliance with company policies.
What you need
- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of controls engineering experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical or similar CAD tools.
- Strong working knowledge of PLCs, drives, servos, motion control, safety systems and HMIs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to multitask in a manufacturing environment.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, roughly 10-15%.

- Beckhoff, Allen-Bradley and Trio experience.
