Applications Engineer

Turn a customer RFQ into a machine. You will analyze the requirement, build the concept drawings and throughput calculations, generate the quotation, and hand the technical package to mechanical design once the order lands.

What you will be doing

Quoting and concept development

  • Review, analyze and organize all customer information supplied with a customer RFQ.
  • Communicate with the customer to obtain missing or pertinent information for the quotation process.
  • Generate machine conceptual drawings.
  • Perform throughput calculations.
  • Generate concept documents and quotations using application processes.

Handoff and documentation

  • Complete Order Entry Checklist documents for technical job requirement communication within JMC teams.
  • Own the technical documentation and handoff to the mechanical design team after receipt of an order.

Sales support

  • Develop sales support and marketing materials.
  • Travel as required.
  • Other work-related activities assigned by your manager.

What you need

  • Experience in 3D CAD and 2D CAD systems, for example Solid Edge or AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to compile, analyze and communicate data.
  • Extremely creative and inventive.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Education and experience

  • High school degree required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience.
